Finding beauty in the circular economy

As awareness of environmental and social issues continues to grow, more companies are transitioning from the ‘take-make-waste’ approach to a so-called “closed loop” model as part of the circular economy.

David Jones stocks a number of brands that support the circular economy, including MAC and Kiehl’s who have introduced in-store recycling facilities and incentives for their customers who want to do the right thing.

If you’re a Kiehl’s customer, you’ll get a stamp every time you bring back an empty and after ten stamps you’ll be rewarded with a sustainable tote bag. And MAC customers will be rewarded with a free lipstick when they bring back six empty containers. Both MAC and Kiehl’s will then make sure these empties are recycled, rather than being sent to landfill.

Not only are these brands reducing their environmental footprint they are also incentivising customers to reduce their own impact on the environment. So, why not recycle your used Kiehl’s and MAC packaging – you’ll be helping to support the closed loop economy and be rewarded for doing the right thing.
