Shopping, wining and dining: these are a few of our favourite things. If you feel the same, you’re going to want to pay a visit to the recently-launched Market Street Kitchen. Combining three of our greatest loves – fine food, fine wine and fashion – the chic café is Sydney CBD’s newest foodie destination, and we can’t get enough.
Designed and conceptualised with Neil Perry, the Market Street Kitchen menu offers casual dining with a gourmet twist. Making the most of David Jones’ best quality ingredients, the café will focus on keeping the menu small, to better echo the change of seasons.
For breakfast expect fruit salads with natural yoghurt and almond praline, Bircher muesli with wild honeycomb and avocado toast topped with sheep’s milk feta, seasonal greens and extra virgin olive oil.
At lunch, a range of grazing plates, salads and sandwiches come served with the best of local foods – labneh, preserved lemon dressings and scrumptious smoked salmon, to name only a few.
For those in the mood for something sweet, there’s also a mouth-watering dessert selection – chocolate brownies and citrus tarts served with crème fraiche, meringue with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
And that’s not all there is. For post-work (or post-shop) relaxation, indulge in the selection of local and imported cheeses, served with complementing accompaniments – La Luna Holy Goat, Brilliant Savarin and Mossvale Blue.
But what is cheese without wine? Thankfully, the Market Street Kitchen Drinks Menu includes over 80 wines offered by the glass, as well as a fine selection of cocktails, cognacs and aperitifs. What more could you want?
The ideal spot to grab breakfast before you browse, sit down to lunch at your leisure, or stop by for a little post-shopping chardonnay. Visit the Market Street Kitchen at the David Jones Market Street Food Hall today.
