There’s something deeply satisfying about an amazing sandwich, perhaps because a truly great one doesn’t come around very often. They’re usually a quick meal, an easy meal, a let’s look in the fridge and see what we can make type of meal. But then you go somewhere where the art of the sandwich is appreciated, where those making it understand how each element fits into one another to make a complete meal. It’s not an afterthought, it’s not a quick solution – it is the main event.
And that’s where the David Jones Sandwich Bar comes in. Working closely with renowned Australian chef Neil Perry, the sandwich bar provides Sydneysiders with a bespoke selection of some of the best sandwiches in the world. Each of the 12 is made to perfection and tells a story from across the globe, staying true to the David Jones promise of bringing the best of Australia and the world to our customers. From the Japanese inspired Chicken Katsu to the ‘Italian’ – a take on the New York Deli sandwich – to the Shrimp Po Boy taken directly from the banks of the Louisiana Bayou, and the decidedly British ‘Curried Egg’, the flavour packed creations promise to take the taste buds on a culinary adventure.
With flavours rotating regularly keeping the offer fresh and of the moment, the sandwich bar is a place customers can keep coming back to time and time again. So go on, put the good old chicken sandwich back in the fridge and head on down to our Market Street Foodhall and try some of the best sandwiches you’ve had in your life. This foodies pick?
