5 things to keep on

your radar this season

Emma Boyd

This emerging Kiwi talent walked her first NYFW last year and now fronts Mimco’s latest campaign. Her favourite place to travel to is Italy (“I love Lake Como – that’s where I want to retire!”) and her favourite movie is Donnie Darko (“I love Jake Gyllenhaal!”). When asked what “fearless” means to her she says, “Not overthinking things and being confident in yourself.” Mimco’s S1.18 collection is available now.

Aside from a professional perfumer, who better to create a new smell from scratch than a florist? Well, Ecoya has gone and enlisted three to develop a range of limited-edition scents. From Auckland florist Kelly Karam comes fresh Tuberose & Fig; from Sean Cook of Sydney’s Mr Cook, Zesty Pomelo, Mint & Vanda Orchid; and from Tasmanian Jardine Hansen Geranium & Green Leaves. Get them in candle form or as diffusers, with prices starting at $42.95.

Christian Louboutin shoes

Christian Louboutin heels, available instore.

It’s playtime at Christian Louboutin, with a range that combines textural silks and satins with PVC and patterns with glossy neutrals. The brand’s signature red bottoms haven’t gone anywhere, but the overall aesthetic hints at more of a Tokyo-luxe vibe than your traditional beige platform pump.

Aspinal of London bag, $999.

Aspinal of London bag, available instore.

From one heritage brand to another, Aspinal of London is now available to Australian shoppers exclusively at David Jones. The luxury bag maker has a particularly illustrious fan base that includes more than one member of the nobility, from the Duchess of Cambridge (and her sister Pippa) to Michelle Dockery (aka Lady Mary Crawley from Downton Abbey – an honorary member of the nobility, to be sure). Our pick for autumn is the Mini Hat Box bag in Sage.
