VAEFNO wrap up

“September is the January of Fashion!” proclaimed renowned fashion consultant Candy Pratts Price and we couldn’t agree more.

Last night’s celebrations for the Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out in Sydney had David Jones buzzing with exclusive events, activations, fashion parades and a killer VIP party on Seven to usher in the fashion new year.

We put together our top five events across the Elizabeth and Market Street stores to give you a taste of the night that was.

1. The Vogue Bar on Seven powered by Fit Bit:

This year it was all about Sports Luxe, dancing on treadmills and playing some good old fashion croquet care of The Upside. Absolute highlight: Deus’ VIP Bar & Restaurant and partying underneath a 150KG motorbike

2. Dinner with Neil Perry:

This is the closest most of us will ever get to having dinner with one of Australia’s most sought-after chefs. Customers were treated to a variety of bespoke menus created exclusively for VAEFNO by David Jones Ambassador Neil Perry. Our favourite: Freshly Shucked Rock Oysters & Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviche with Japanese Flavours.

3. The Parades:

It wouldn’t be a night out with VOGUE if you didn’t have some wonderful fashion to lust after. Our must-haves:

4. The Man Cave:

For the gents that don’t like shopping VAEFNO was the perfect event to get dragged along to. The boys had plenty to keep them busy. The Man Cave Zone on Level One offered beers, burger-flavoured spring rolls, hot-dogs and sports along with an epic art activation and competition by Deus. Level Two gave the men the opportunity to enjoy cut-throat razor lather shaves & men’s grooming services provided by Kiehl’s and whisky tastings at the GQ Gentleman’s Bar supported by Ted Baker and Kiehl’s.

5. The Beauty Treatments:

You would be forgiven for thinking that the Lower Ground and Ground floors in Elizabeth Street were taken over by a beauty convention. Customers were treated to the absolute best that beauty has to offer for Spring. From 15 ultimune power infusing Shiseido facials, live body painting demonstrations from MAC and complimentary 20 minute applications of the Lancome Sonia Rykiel collections. If ever one got tired running from counter to counter Samantha Wills was there with champagne and canapés to the rescue!
