Runway Report: Studio.W SS15 Collection

Cameras and phones were at the ready when international supermodel Joan Smalls walked for the Studio.W launch at David Jones. Opening the runway show in a white fitted suit jacket and matching suit trousers, she looked every bit the confident, modern woman the brand is designed for. Featuring light breezy tops, fresh tailored separates and crisp coordinates, it was a collection full of covetable and wearable pieces.

The Runway Looks

There were 60 different looks that came down the runway, each giving a subtle nod to the season's trends. Matched colour pairings were strong on the runway, including head to toe white, showing that the colour is just as versatile as black, as well as a hot coral shirt and shorts combination worn by David Jones ambassador Jessica Gomes.

Soft feminine colours like pale pink and yellow, and details such as mini ruffled hems and light tailoring toned down the bold monochrome looks, providing great options for both work wear and off-duty occasions.

Tan, navy and white made up the colour palette for the equally wearable menswear looks in warm weather fabric like linen and cotton.

Hair & Makeup

Complementing the modern vibe of the show, the models' hair, courtesy of Aveda, was left long, tousled with loose waves. It's an easy sophisticated style that exudes effortless chic. Makeup was also kept clean and natural-looking with a soft, brown eye and a nude lip colour using Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Envy Matte lipstick in Covetous Nude.
