THE SET

Marking the end of an incredibly stylish era, last night’s event was the final parade to be held On Seven at our flagship Elizabeth Street store. Soon to be refurbished, the iconic space has hosted endless gala events and historic parades over the years, including Christian Dior’s Australian debut back in 1948.

THE MAIN EVENT

Part feast, part fashion show, the night kicked off with a dinner catered by Neil Perry, featuring key flavour notes from our newly launched David Jones Food offering. Upon arrival guests sipped on Veuve Clicquot while enjoying a standup entrée of freshly shucked rock oysters, before taking their seats for the main course.

And then it was time for the clothes. As the banquet table was seamlessly transformed into the evening’s runway, models emerged in the best of the new season from our stable of exclusive designers.

THE FASHION

Picture this: bright, tropicana prints, Victoriana inspired lace, and feminine pastel pinks, interspersed with flashes of vibrant reds. If you needed a reminder that summer was coming, last night was definitely it. Styled by JONES Magazine Fashion Director Thelma McQuillan and starring David Jones Ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Jesinta Franklin – alongside Australian supermodels Bridget Malcolm and Shanina Shaik – last night’s runway took guests on a journey from the office to the beach, and to the bar.

From distressed tees and black leather jackets by cult label Aje, to pleated red dresses by Scanlan and Theodore, last night’s show showcased the breadth of our range of exclusive Australian and international designers. Crowd favourites Romance Was Born and Dion Lee were joined this year by new brands Maggie Marilyn, By Johnny and Aje, among many, many more. This was a luxe line-up of fashion’s best, for everything under the sun.
