Every September millions of fashion-lovers make the pilgrimage to New York City to kick off the quartet of Fashion Weeks known as the Big Four: New York, London, Milan and Paris. Star-studded, theatrical and vivacious, NYFW brought with it all the glitz and glamour we have come to expect from the city-stopping event.
With so many amazing David Jones designers showing at NYFW we thought it essential to provide you with a curated list of who we’re crushing on and why they need to be in your wardrobe next season!
From humble beginnings in a studio in Sydney to taking the world by storm at NYFW, Dion Lee is one of those designers that just gets it right…every single time! This September, Lee loosens up his designs and moves towards more flowing cuts.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are the geniuses behind this must-have DJs brand. Perfecting what they do best, the duo showed-off the unrivaled craftsmanship they bring to each and every one of their garments. Bold pops of colour were juxtaposed with sharp black & white pieces that reminded us of the art behind each of their designs.

Australian designers Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo used their show at NYFW to go beyond just the clothes they produce, and celebrate the women wearing them. Known for their sophisticated yet relaxed designs, Martin and Lobo amplified their show by including models of different sizes, age, and race. For these two Aussie designers there is no ‘one woman’ – their garments are designed to be enjoyed by all women.

No NYFW wrap-up would be complete without a massive shout-out to Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. Going from strength to strength, these two Sydney sisters are currently dominating the fashion world. Their New York show was a shout-out to the 80s with a twist of modernity. We absolutely fell in love with the sisters’ use of frills, ruffles and asymmetry.
