The theme was 'China: Through the Looking Glass' and this year's MET Gala embodied the opulence and ornate magnificence of the Orient in the costumes and dresses worn by the likes of Joan Smalls and Gigi Hadid (pictured above).
Though it is always interesting to see how the gala theme was interpreted by its A-list attendees, it's the wearable trends we have kept an eye on. And in keeping with the Chinese motif, it was all about rich Asian colours of deep reds and purples, and of course, a bit of chinoiserie.
