Known for their sexy-cool designs and celebrity following, Bec & Bridge are expanding into swimwear. Debuting the inaugural collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in April (read about it in detail here), the first range have now launched at David Jones — a perfect incentive to start getting beach body ready.
"Introducing Bec & Bridge Swim has been a very natural progression for the brand and something we’ve wanted to do for some time now," says Bridget Yorston, one half of the design duo. “We both grew up in Sydney where summer and the beach is a big part of our lifestyle.”
The brand has a knack for being on the pulse of what's hot and on-trend, and the first swim collection is no different, with its sexy, '70s themed designs. Here's what we love about the range, available to shop in-store and online now.
1. Iconic glamazon Veruschka was their inspiration for the first collection.
This means strong cuts and striking silhouettes designed to emphasize bronzed limbs and sunkissed skin of summer.
2. The campaign was shot in beautiful Byron Bay.
Stunning beaches in Byron Bay, including popular surfing spot The Pass, provided the backdrop to the campaign. Styling legend Mark Vassallo was also the creative brains behind the shoot.
3. There's one-piece swimsuits included in the range, and they're anything but retro.
There are sleek maillots with plunging necklines, seductive cut outs and delicate hardware detailing. The graphic striped trim and cross-back styles also nod to the athleisure trend.

4. The bikini separates can be worn, well, separately.
Bikinis are twisted, looped and tied in a rich palette of deep burgundy, luscious teal and midnight navy, and can be mixed and matched to create an individual style statement.

5. The range is absolutely affordable.
"The Bec & Bridge girl has grown up with the brand and is constantly evolving, much like Bec and I,” says Bridget. “She is a strong, savvy and confident woman who is able to dissect trends and make them her own. We believe that our customer expects an aspirational yet achievable product, from our mainline to our swim collection, and this is something that is embedded in our brand's DNA."
