Strong, bold and confident were the key themes at the AW15 Fashion Launch. With a booming beat from live drummers opening the show, the guests could feel a powerful new season was about to come.
And the show did not disappoint. Jessica Gomes opened with an all-white ensemble of models striding down the paved runway. Jason Dundas led the menswear range, beginning with Phl!p, a brand new to the David Jones stable, while Montana Cox dazzled in a red Michael Lo Sordo gown.
The show presented a fantastic edit of the key trends for the new season including graphic prints from Manning Cartell, monochrome separates with a focus on neutral knits done best by Jac + Jack, and man style suiting from Bassike.
A lively playlist accompanied the 40-minute show, including an upbeat mix of the hottest song of the year, Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk. With 212 looks that went down the runway, the grand finale was of Jessica Gomes, Montana Cox and Elyse Taylor all dressed in Carla Zampatti, celebrating the designer’s 50 years in the fashion industry.
