The 2016 ARIA Awards were held yesterday in Sydney at The Star and though the rain got a little bit too excited for our liking the red carpet was an absolute blast! Hairs may have gotten a little frizzy but that didn’t stop the celebs from looking their absolute best. Here’s our top looks of the evening, with a few behind the scenes along the way.
The ARIAs is a big day and when all eyes are on you on the red carpet you don’t just pop on whatever’s lying around and go with the ‘I woke up like this’ look. When next you go to the ARIAs I suggest getting yourself into the David Jones suite located in the top floor of the absolutely divine Darling Hotel in Pyrmont, Sydney. Here you’ll get treated to some bubbles while you get the full glam makeover. Laura Mercier and Aveda were there to make sure everyone looked on point and camera ready! Oh, and The Daily Edit had some wonderful gifts for all our guests! So yeah…try and get an invite to that next time – it’s really easy, just write a number one hit single and you’ll be fine!
The carpet, though mushy from all the rain and somewhat more burgundy than red, was buzzing with amazing Australian artists wearing some of our best designer. Our hosts Didier Cohen and Havana Brown were absolutely flawless on the red carpet. Didier was looking suave in Hugo Boss while Havana simmered in Manning Cartell.
Aussie actress Sarah Ellen brought a bit of classic Hollywood to the awards in a beautiful Bec & Bridge dress, while Jessica Mauboy was the height of modernity in a breathtaking Romance Was Born dress. Speaking of Romance, the designers of the beloved Aussie brand, Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales embodied perfectly the ethos of their label.
The boys from Safia scrubbed up rather nicely, Ben was in full Jack London, Michael in a Calibre jacket, Reiss T-shirt and Wrangler Jeans and Harry was sporting a Reiss Jacket, Ksubi Shirt and Lee Jeans.
Australia’s sweethearts Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich looked the part of ‘match made in heaven couple’, Anna was simply perfect in Bec & Bridge and Tim owned casual suiting with a Tiger of Sweden suite and an Alexander Wang Tee.
It wouldn’t be an ARIAs wrap-up if we didn’t do a shout out to the man of the hour, Robbie Williams. Charming, charismatic, and oh so dreamy Robbie stole the Red Carpet and provided plenty of entertainment for all!
So remember start working on that number one hit and get yourself ARIA ready for next year! Until next time!
