The 2015 ARIA Awards was held at The Star on 25 November and was as celebrity-filled as you'd expect. From up-and-coming pop princesses to indie rockstars to international music icons, it was the biggest night of the Australian music calendar.
David Jones was again the sponsor of the ARIA Awards 2015 Red Carpet, fusing together the relationship between fashion and music, with the biggest Australian and international musical acts showcasing the best of David Jones' local and international designers.
Read on for an insider's look at the artists getting ready for the event (plus exclusive celeb-approved makeup tips from Bobbi Brown) and of course, our red carpet favourites.
Hours from the start of the red carpet, it was a hive of activity at the David Jones suite located at the top floor of the luxurious The Darling Hotel in Pyrmont, Sydney. Stylists, and hair and make-up artists were buzzing around the various artists and celebrities getting ready for the awards.
On makeup duty was David Jones' exclusive beauty partner for the event, Bobbi Brown, who created exclusive looks for the talent in the suite. Head artist Izzy looked after the makeup of red carpet host Olivia 'Liv' Phyland and needed to ensure it's going to withstand the sun and heat outside.
Her top pick for sweat and melt-proof makeup? "Bobbi Brown's Skin Smoothing Pore Perfector and Long-Wear Cream Shadow," she says without hesitation. "Liv's look on the red carpet is a bit boho (see her look below) so I've created the focus on her eyes, blending Cream Eye Shadow in Beach Bronze and Sparkle Eye Shadow in Allspice. I'm finishing it off with our new Luxe Lip Colour in Pink Buff."
Temperatures reached a sweltering 37 degrees outside The Star but it didn't dampen the glam factor on the red carpet. Flanking both ends of the red carpet were TV personalities Liv Phyland and Joel Creasey greeting the stars at the David Jones Red Carpet booth, and Angela Bishop and Scott Tweedie interviewing at the other end.
There were clear red carpet favourites, judging from the cheers from the crowd. David Jones ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox showed off their stylish pedigree with Monty dressed in a white Zimmermann short set and Jess in a chic-noir Manning Cartell dress. Pop princesses Airling and Thelma Plum both wore Bec & Bridge while songstress Jessica Mauboy wore a grey Ellery pant suit with signature flared sleeves. Designers from the David Jones family were also present, including Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales of Romance was Born, and Alexandra and Genevieve Smart of Ginger & Smart.
But the largest cheers on the carpet came when crooners and male heartthrobs Conrad Sewell and Ed Sheeran arrived. They posed with their fans on the grandstands, and was even spotted taking a few selfies with the crowd. Hall of Fame inductee Tina Arena was a picture of elegance in a Dolce & Gabbana dress, with international superstar Kylie Minogue capping off an amazing red carpet event.
