London Fashion Week | Street Style Trends

Some say that the street style parade outside the fashion week shows have reached its zenith, having made stars out of magazine editors and bloggers alike. Fashionistas such as Anna Dello Russo, Leandra Medine, and Nicole Warne may not have household name status, but images of them and their styles are fodder for hundreds of media sites, blogs, and photo libraries around the world.

In London, during the just past Spring/Summer 2016 fashion week, the street style game is still strong. The Brits are known to be more daring in their fashion choices, are experts in stylish layering, and always with a tongue in cheek sense of humour.

This season, as far as street style trends go, it’s not about a new piece or item; florals, denim and trousers are hardly new but it’s how they’re styled and worn in an inimitable and irreverent way. After all, taking something old and making it cool and relevant again is exactly what the Brits do best.

Dark Floral

Florals are undoubtedly a great transeasonal print, seen here worn dark and edgy for London's autumnal weather. Replicate it for our own in-between seasons climate and look for long and languid dress styles, and pair with a statement shoe and sunnies. Read more on the Dark Floral trend.

Simple Denim

Going casual to fashion week? Not possible. But it’s exactly what these fashion show veterans did, perhaps tired of the endless preening of the overdone and overdressed. In any case, denim is back in a big way, and it’s best worn simply because as they say, sometimes less is more.
