BALMAIN BALMAIN

Yes, it’s true, we now stock one of the world’s most iconic luxury labels – and our wardrobes are seriously thankful.

Founded in 1945 by French designer Pierre Balmain, The House of Balmain quickly rose to fame, becoming known for its richly embroidered, opulent fabrics, nipped-in waists and fuller skirts. Dramatically different to the modest styles worn by women during wartime, Balmain’s boldly feminine silhouettes offered Parisian women a more striking, innovative way to dress. Over 70 years later, the House continues to do just that, a cult favourite among the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Alessandra Ambrosio, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian.

Today, at the helm of Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, Balmain remains at the vanguard of fashion.  Inspired by strong, modern women, Rousteing’s Balmain has become renowned for its military-inspired tailoring, sharp silhouettes, and the iconic Balmain blazer – one of our personal favourites.

If the idea of a luxurious and ethical alternative to fur appeals to you, this brand is for you. Arriving at David Jones just in time for winter, Unreal Fur is an independent, PETA-certified Australian label driven by their passion for animal welfare and their love of fashion. Looking lush to the eye and feeling luxurious on the skin, each Unreal Fur collection features decadent colours and an endless array of textures and print. Faux fur with a clear conscious – can’t argue with that.
