Kimberly Gardner is the head stylist for the David Jones show at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). We chat with Kimberly on the eve of the show to find out what we should be shopping for this season.
Without giving too much away, what can we expect for the David Jones’ show at VAMFF?
The show will include a wide range of brands showcasing the great brands David Jones have, from some great youth brands like Cameo
to international brands like Carven and Sandro
, and of course, great Australian brands like Manning Cartell
and Carla Zampatti
It will be a journey across the decades with a right mixture of different eras; from ’60, to the ‘70s right through to the ‘80s. The ‘70s trend we are seeing in all the magazines now will definitely be part of the show but also a lot of great denim and pastels plus some 'man-style' pieces.
When styling the shows, it’s important to show how each piece can be styled and to be on-trend. Shoppers attending the show should be able to easily reference a look to what they’re seeing in magazines, blogs and other media.
