Runway Beauty: Easy Glamour

Under the creative direction of James Molloy, MAC’s Director of Makeup Artistry, the new beauty looks this season are a combination of rich textures, in the form of smouldering eyes, and sheer skin. It’s a sophisticated look that feels both glamourous and effortless.

“The two makeup looks are designed for women who are confident, but don't like to look too ‘done’. [When I was creating these looks for David Jones,] I was interested in the idea of textures and how beautiful makeup appears when you've been wearing it for a few hours and it's slightly worn in,” says James.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to recreate the looks:

AW15 Make-up Look 1
Look 1
  1. Prep skin with Lightful Softening Lotion, followed by Mineralized Charged Water Moisture Gel. Reduce puffiness by gently patting Fast Response Eye Cream around the eyes and apply Lip Conditioner to lips.
  2. Using a #168 brush, apply a small amount of Face & Body Foundation, followed by Studio Finish Concealer with a #219 Brush in areas that need slightly more coverage. Using the same brush, lightly contour below the cheekbone with Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm Compact SPF30.
  3. Line eyes with Smoulder and Powersurge Eye Kohl Pencil and blend out with a #219 brush. Sweep a small amount of Pressed Pigments in Black Diamond and Black Grape over the lid of the eye, and finish with Studio Sculpt Lash mascara.
  4. Feather Lingering Brow Pencil through the brow to lightly fill any gaps in the natural brow. Brush Clear Brow Set through brows in an upward motion to finish.
  5. Apply Soar Lip Pencil lightly over lips and finish by lightly tapping Lip Conditioner on top.
AW15 Make-up Look 2
Look 2
  1. Prep skin as per steps 1 and 2 of Look 1.
  2. Using a #217 brush, buff Quite Natural Paint Pot around the eyes to form a halo effect. Using the same brush, sweep Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF3 in Deep Dark over the lid to add depth and give a warm, creamy, textured finish to the eye. Apply Extended Play Giga Black Lash to separate and lengthen the top lashes.
  3. Feather Lingering Brow Pencil through the brow to lightly fill any gaps in the natural brow. Brush Clear Brow Set through brows in an upward motion to finish.
  4. Pat Hug Me Lipstick on top.
