Under the creative direction of James Molloy, MAC’s Director of Makeup Artistry, the new beauty looks this season are a combination of rich textures, in the form of smouldering eyes, and sheer skin. It’s a sophisticated look that feels both glamourous and effortless.
“The two makeup looks are designed for women who are confident, but don't like to look too ‘done’. [When I was creating these looks for David Jones,] I was interested in the idea of textures and how beautiful makeup appears when you've been wearing it for a few hours and it's slightly worn in,” says James.
Follow the step-by-step guide below to recreate the looks:
- Prep skin as per steps 1 and 2 of Look 1.
- Using a #217 brush, buff Quite Natural Paint Pot around the eyes to form a halo effect. Using the same brush, sweep Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF3 in Deep Dark over the lid to add depth and give a warm, creamy, textured finish to the eye. Apply Extended Play Giga Black Lash to separate and lengthen the top lashes.
- Feather Lingering Brow Pencil through the brow to lightly fill any gaps in the natural brow. Brush Clear Brow Set through brows in an upward motion to finish.
- Pat Hug Me Lipstick on top.
