Sally Spratt is the girl who drew her dreams to life. Beginning her career as a graphic designer but with a keen passion for beauty, fashion and illustration, Sally started The Lust List with the mantra, “If I can’t have them, I’ll draw them..,,” and began sketching and creating whimsical watercolour illustrations of luxe and lust-worthy items. Now a wildly popular blog and with a large Instagram following, The Lust List has seen Sally collaborate with top brands that she only ever used to dream - and draw - about.
Sally’s latest collaboration is with Ultraceuticals, one of Australia’s leading cosmeceutical skincare brands, for their Ultra Christmas collection. Makes sense as Ultraceuticals is definitely in our lust-worthy list, and with the brand’s most popular products housed in a beautifully illustrated keepsake box by Sally Spratt, they’re gifts that are at the top of our Christmas lists.
We chat to Sally about The Lust List and her recent collaboration with Ultraceuticals.
Where did The Lust List idea come from?
It started with me trying different illustration styles and sketching different luxe brands & products that I was lusting after while in-between freelance design jobs. My first couple of posts instantly generated a huge response on Instagram and Tumblr, and I was having so much fun creating each of the illustrations that I decided to keep going, and turn it into a permanent fixture. I follow the ‘if I can’t have them, I’ll draw them’ mantra for every post I create, and I think this really resonates with the community of followers I’ve built up.
What was featured on the first ever Lust List?
It was a Gianvito Ross Cut-out Suede Sandal.
Where do you get inspiration from?
I am inspired by beauty in nature, art, fashion, illustration & sculpture. I see beauty in all the details and ideas.
Have you always loved drawing?
I have drawn ever since I can remember. It’s a hobby I have been lucky enough to build a career on and I am so grateful for that.
Tell us about your collaboration with Ultraceuticals for their Ultra Christmas collection.
I just love Christmas…the buzz, the excitement in the lead up, the last minute rush to find the right gifts; and Ultraceuticals have such beautiful products that I love and use regularly in my daily beauty routine, so it just made sense.
What’s your skincare and beauty routine like?
I wash my face with the Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser and then apply the Ultra Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30+, which is one of the beauty products I can’t live without. It has a sheer tint that allows you to still look fresh faced and polished without trying too hard, it’s one of my staples.
