Runway Beauty: Spring's Key Looks

If the hair for David Jones' Spring Summer 2015 Fashion Launch had a rock vibe, the makeup was all about 70's bohemian. A fresh-faced look with a natural orange lip, softly coloured eyes and beautiful luminous skin was the concept behind Bohemian Rhapsody — perfect for everyday — while 70's Chic is sultry and glam with a focus on a smokey, sultry eye.

Here's the step by step guide to each of the looks below, brought to you by shu uemura:

LOOK 1: BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

  1. Start by creating the perfect base and apply one pump of TSUYA Skin UV Under Base followed by a small almond sized amount of Glow Creator Primer

  2. Perfect your glow by applying the Lightbulb Fluid Foundation using the provided Lightbulb sponge applicator for a dewy finish.

  3. Create a sun kissed look with glowing eyes using the Haute Street Warm x Vibrant Eyeshadow Palette over the eyelids, followed by applying a line over the top eyelid for definition using the Haute Street Drawing Pencil in Brown.  To open up the eyes, curl the lashes using shu uemura's Eyelash Curler and apply Tokyo Lash Mascara from root to tip.

  4. Let your brow define your style by applying a shade of Brow Ink followed by Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil over the brow to give shape to your overall look. For added glow, apply a wash of Haute Street Tint in Graffiti Orange on the apples of the cheeks.

  5. To finish the look, add a light gloss to your lips using Gloss Unlimited.

LOOK 2: 70's CHIC

  1. Start by creating the perfect base with the Lightbulb Fluid Foundation using the provided Lightbulb sponge applicator.

  2. Create the perfect smoky eye and apply Haute Street Warm x Vibrant Eyeshadow Palette over the eyelids followed by applying a defining line over the top eyelid using the Haute Street Drawing Pencil in Brown.

  3. For lash definition, curl your eyelashes using the shu uemura's iconic Eyelash Curler then apply Tokyo Lash Mascara from root to tip, followed by the Farfallina False Eyelashes to really open up the eyes.

  4. Get brow definition by applying Brow Ink followed by Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil over the brow to give shape to your overall look. Add contour to the cheek by applying a wash of Haute Street Tint in BG01

  5. To finish the look, add a light lip shade using Haute Street Rouge Unlimited in Highway Pink.
