If you watch beauty vlogs on YouTube, you'll be familiar, or more likely a fan, of Lauren Curtis. With over 3 million global subscribers to her YouTube channel, she's officially Australia's no. 1 beauty vlogger — and that's not even counting the millions of views to her videos!
Bright and bubbly, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why Lauren's makeup and beauty video tutorials are so popular; they're full of practical advice and inspiration, but she's also a passionate advocate of self-confidence in young women.
And for this year's David Jones Beauty Tribe on Tour, Lauren shares her beauty product edits, step-by-step guides, and a whole lot of 'Love Loz' fun in our Beauty Tribe magazine, which you can read here.
We chat to Lauren about her absolute beauty must-haves and get a sneak peek at some of her top beauty picks.
What's your beauty routine like?
My beauty routine is centered around efficiency - I have a handful of products on high rotation that I know work and look great together! I'm a creature of habit so I usually wear the same simple yet flawless look day-to-day then switching it up for special occasions or when I feel like a bit of a change.
What was the first beauty product you fell in love with?
Foundation. I love foundation that transforms the skin, especially ones that are lightweight but provide an amazing level of coverage. And I'm always on the lookout for the perfect shade for my fake tan, which is often hard to find!
What beauty products will you take on a deserted island?
Mascara, eyebrow powder and lip balm. These are my three must-haves; without them I feel naked!
What's your no.1 make up rule?
When it comes to makeup there are no rules — that's my number one rule! Makeup is meant to be fun and creative and shouldn't be taken too seriously. If you like applying black lipstick and drawing on pink eyebrows, go for it! Do whatever makes you feel most confident.
Do you have any makeup artists you look up to?
There are lots of artists I admire, if I named them all we'd be here all day! From horror special FX artists to other YouTubers to traditional makeup artists, there are SO many talented people out there sharing their work online!
