  • What is Shop with Points at davidjones.com.au?

    David Jones and American Express have partnered to offer customers who hold an eligible American Express Card enrolled in the Membership Rewards program, the ability to Shop with Points when making purchases online at David Jones. This includes the David Jones American Express Card and David Jones American Express Platinum Card.  Card Members will now have the ability to select Membership Rewards points at checkout when shopping online at David Jones. Card Members can choose to either pay in full using their Membership Rewards points, or use a combination of Points + Pay.

  • Who is eligible to Shop with Points?

    Customers who have an American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited are eligible provided they are enrolled in the Membership Rewards program. This includes the David Jones American Express and David Jones American Express Platinum Cards. However excludes the David Jones Storecard, Qantas American Express Cards, Velocity American Express Cards, and Supplementary Card Members. Please note, the Primary Card must be used to complete the redemption.
    David Jones Storecard points can only be redeemed for David Jones Gift Cards by contacting Card Member Services on 1300 368 989.

  • I have more than one American Express Card. Which one is eligible?

    Any Card enrolled in the Membership Rewards program is eligible to use Shop with Points. Please note, the Primary Card must be used to complete the redemption, Supplementary Cards are not eligible. For the details of your specific cards, please contact American Express by calling the phone number on the back of your Card. 
    David Jones Storecards are not eligible for Pay with Points. Please contact Card Member Services on 1300 368 989 for assistance in redeeming your points.

  • Can I combine points from multiple Membership Rewards accounts to pay for my order?

    No, Membership Rewards points from multiple accounts cannot currently be aggregated to pay for a single order. You may use individual cards enrolled in Membership Rewards to make purchases with points at davidjones.com.au.

  • How do I use points to pay for an order?

    Simply browse and shop online at davidjones.com.au. Add items to your Shopping Bag and upon Checkout, select Membership Rewards points as the payment method.  
    You will be required to enter your Card details into a secure form including:

    • Card Member Name
    • Card Number
    • Expiry Date
    • CVN (CID) 


    Your current points balance will be displayed. On a PC browser experience, you can simply click and drag the slider from left to right to adjust the Points + Pay values. On a mobile browser, this is achieved by using the plus and minus buttons.


    Please note the minimum number of points that can be redeemed is 3,000 points.


    You must agree to the Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions to complete the checkout process and place your order.


  • Do I need to create an online account at David Jones?

    No, you can complete your purchase by choosing a Guest checkout which will enable you to place an order without creating an account. However, in order to make future purchases even faster and track the progress of your orders you have the option of creating an account during the checkout process. Returning customers are able to sign-in upfront.

  • Why dont I see the available Membership Rewards points on the payments page?

    If you have a Membership Rewards points balance that is less than 3,000 points, you may not see available points on the payments page. If there is an error in displaying your Membership Rewards account points balance, please contact American Express by calling the phone number on the back of your Card.

  • Are there any products I can't buy using Shop with Points?

    Membership Rewards points cannot be redeemed for cash or used as payment towards David Jones American Express Cards, David Jones Storecards, Lay-by accounts or purchases made through the Wine Club or for David Jones eGift Cards. Additionally, membership reward points cannot be redeemed if you are a supplementary card holder. Other exclusions may apply and may change from time to time.

  • Is there a fee for using Membership Rewards to shop online?

    No. There is no fee for using Membership Rewards points at davidjones.com.au

  • May I apply promotional coupons to orders in which I use Shop with Points to pay?

    Yes, you may apply any eligible promotional coupons to orders paid using Membership Rewards points.

  • What is the dollar value of my Membership Rewards points?

    David Jones American Express Card Members can redeem 13,300 Membership Rewards points for AUD$100. American Express Card Members can redeem 13,500 Membership Rewards points for AUD$100. A minimum of 3,000 points must be redeemed for every transaction. 

  • What if I do not have enough Membership Rewards to pay the full amount of my purchase?

    If you don’t have enough Membership Rewards points, you can pay with any combination of Membership Rewards points and your American Express Card. A minimum of 3,000 points must be redeemed for every transaction.

  • Can I still earn Membership Rewards Points?

    Yes, you will earn Membership Rewards points for the pay component of the transaction on your American Express card.

  • What if I need to return or exchange an item that I have purchased with my Membership Rewards?

    As per the Membership Rewards terms and conditions, Membership Rewards points cannot be refunded once used to make purchases at davidjones.com.au. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase made using Membership Rewards points, you can return it to any David Jones store or to the address below with your proof of purchase and David Jones will provide you with a Returns Card to the value of the item being returned, in Australian dollars. The Returns Card may be used to make purchases at any David Jones store in Australia and online davidjones.com.au

    Please include your completed Return Slip on the back of your Proof of Purchase with your goods. An Online Customer Service Assistant will call you to process your return once the goods have been received. David Jones will not reimburse postage costs for returned items unless the item is faulty. 


  • Can I redeem my Membership Rewards points when I shop in store at David Jones or over the phone?

    No, currently you can only redeem your Membership Rewards points online at davidjones.com.au. You can however use Membership Rewards points to redeem for David Jones Gift Cards at davidjones.com.au or membershiprewards.com.au and use them to shop in store at David Jones.

  • I tried to pay with my Membership Rewards points but the transaction was unsuccessful?

    There are a number of reasons that your transaction may not have been successful. For example, if your card has expired or you are not enrolled in the Membership Rewards program, you have an insufficient points balance or your card is not eligible to Shop with Points. For more information, please review the Frequently Asked Questions or contact American Express by calling the phone number on the back of your Card.

  • Will David Jones be accessing my personal information?

    By using your Membership Rewards points to make at purchase at davidjones.com.au you consent to  David Jones accessing and using your personal information in order to process the transaction.
