  • How do I activate my Card?

    The easiest way to activate your Card is online. Click here and follow the prompts, you can also register for Online Services at the same time. Alternatively, you can activate your Card by calling the number printed on the activation sticker on the front of your new Card.

  • How do I check my points balance and/or redeem my points?

    The easiest way to do this is to log in to our secure website, click here.

  • Where can I use my David Jones American Express Card?

    You can use your David Jones American Express Card as a payment option at millions of places, here and around the world. The Card is accepted everywhere that accepts American Express. Just keep an eye out for the American Express Blue Box logo whenever you're making a purchase.

  • What do I do if I dispute a charge on my Card account or I think my Card has been used fraudulently?

    If you have a query with your statement or any charge on it, contact Customer Services immediately on 1300 36 89 89.

  • How can I pay my account?

    You can pay your David Jones American Express Card account in any of the following ways: 

    • Pay in person by cash, EFTPOS or cheque at any of the following:
      • Any David Jones store in Australia
      • Australia Post Office*
    • Pay by BPAY®, online or over the phone (You will need to enter Biller Code:  88013, and your Card number)
    • Direct Debit from your nominated bank account

    * A $3.00 over the counter fee will apply to payments made in person at Australia Post. You must present your Card and current account statement when paying your Card account in person.

  • My card has been lost, stolen or damaged. How can I organise a replacement card.

    It's important to contact Customer Services on 1300 36 89 89 immediately to organise cancellation and a replacement card.

  • How can I enrol in Direct Debit?

    The easiest way to set up an Automatic Payment Plan is online. Log in to Online Services and click on the Direct Debit link and complete the form, you'll need your BSB and Bank Account number on hand. If you have a joint account or have not registered for Online Services, please contact our Customer Service Centre.

  • I've forgotten my User ID/Password what do I do now?

    Please go to our Cardmember Sercvices section, have your card on hand, and click on the "Forgot User ID/Password" button. You can then answer the required security questions to retrieve your User ID/Password. You can also create a new password at the same time.

  • How do I order a statement reprint?

    The fastest way to get historical statements is to log in to Online Services. Your last six months statements are available immediately.

  • How do I view my Rewards Points balance?

    You can view your Rewards Points balance by either accessing your account through Online Services or by contacting the Customer Service Centre on 1300 36 89 89.

  • What should I enter for requested Credit Limit?

    This is an optional field.  If you leave this blank, we will assign your Credit Limit based on an assessment of your application information.  If you complete this field, you will need to enter an amount that is equal to or higher than the product minimum indicated on the application form next to this field. On the application, this field is found in the financial details section and has been included as the National Consumer Credit Protection Act regulation requires that a credit issuer must give the opportunity for an applicant to request a Credit Limit at the point of application.

  • I want a Credit Limit lower than the product minimum

    You can only request a Credit Limit that is equal to or above the product minimum as this is the lowest Credit Limit we will allow you to have for the product as per American Express policy.

  • In what order are my payments allocated?

    Your David Jones American Express Card payment is allocated from the highest interest rate to the lowest interest rate.

  • How do the changes to the National Consumer Credit Act affect me?

    Under the new changes to the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, your payments will be allocated from the highest interest rate to the lowest interest rate. Therefore if you have a balance with different interest rates applicable, the payment will be allocated to the balance with the highest interest rate first and then once this has been paid it will apply to the balance with the next highest interest rate until the total outstanding balance has been paid in full.

  • What is the David Jones American Express Platinum Card?

  • How can I apply for a David Jones American Express Platinum Card?

    You can apply for the David Jones American Express Platinum Card at any David Jones store in Australia or online at davidjones.com.au/David-Jones-Cards/Platinum.

  • How can I choose to convert the Reward Points I earn on my David Jones American Express Card to Qantas Frequent Flyer points?

    You will need to change your reward program preference to Qantas Frequent Flyer. To do this you can call our Customer Service Centre on 1300 36 89 89 (6am - midnight, 7 days). Once you have opted into the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, any remaining Membership Rewards points will remain on your Membership Rewards account for 30 days before expiry. You cannot convert these to Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

    Your David Jones American Express  Card allows you to earn Reward Points (3 Reward Points per dollar at Supermarkets and Petrol Stations, 2 Reward Points per dollar at David Jones, and 1 Reward Point per dollar everywhere else) which are then automatically converted to Qantas Frequent Flyer points, and shown on your monthly Card statement. 1 Reward Point = 0.75 Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

  • Can I transfer my current Membership Rewards or Reward Points balance to Qantas Frequent Flyer points?

    You cannot transfer your current Membership Rewards points balance to Qantas Frequent Flyer points. You will need to redeem your Reward Points within the Membership Rewards program within 30 days of choosing the Qantas Frequent Flyer program as your preferred reward program. You cannot transfer Reward Points or Membership Rewards Points from one program to the other. Please phone 1300 36 89 89 or visit davidjones.com.au/membershiprewards and log into your account to redeem any unused Membership Rewards points for Gift Cards, merchandise, travel or even points for credit to your account within 30 days of choosing Qantas Frequent Flyer as your preferred reward program.

  • How many Qantas Frequent Flyer points will I earn on my David Jones American Express Card?

    You will earn Reward Points at the rate displayed in the table below which are automatically converted to Qantas Frequent Flyer points at a rate of 1 Reward Point for 0.75 Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Your statement will show your balance of Rewards Points, please see qantas.com/frequentflyer for your current Qantas Frequent Flyer balance.

  • Do I need to join Qantas Frequent Flyer before I update my preference to Qantas Frequent Flyer?

    You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem Qantas Frequent Flyer points.  You must advise us of your Qantas Frequent Flyer program membership number.  If we have not been notified of your Qantas Frequent Flyer program membership number, your Rewards Points will continue to accrue but we will not be able to convert them to Qantas Frequent Flyer points and credit them into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account until we have received your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number. 

    A joining fee of $82.50 usually applies, however American Express has arranged to provide Qantas Frequent Flyer membership with the joining fee waived to David Jones American Express cardholders who are not already a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and who apply at qantas.com/joinffdavidjones.

  • How can I redeem my Qantas Frequent Flyer points I have earned on my David Jones American Express Card?

    Your Reward Points will automatically be converted to Qantas Frequent Flyer points. To redeem your Qantas Frequent Flyer points, login into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account at qantas.com/login and review your redemption options.

  • When will my Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned on my David Jones American Express Card appear on my Qantas Frequent Flyer account?

    The conversion of Reward Points earned on your David Jones American Express Card to Qantas Frequent Flyer points occurs automatically every month. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer points are usually credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 48 hours of the date that your David Jones American Express credit card statement is sent to you each month.
