Obtaining a Gift List

Guests can obtain a Gift List as follows:

  • Using the Gift List search function on this page.
  • Visiting the Gift and Bridal Registry in their nearest David Jones store
  • Contacting the Gift & Bridal Service on 1300 300 111 or +61 2 9266 6186 (outside Australia)

Availability of Gifts

David Jones cannot guarantee that the items on the gift list will be available throughout the period of the Gift List, especially in seasonal departments or where seasonal merchandise may be available for a limited period of time. Please check with the relevant department when selecting your gift.

In the event that any item, which has been selected, is subject to delay or is not available, the Gift & Bridal Registry will contact you as the guest to:

  • select an alternative gift;
  • leave the item on hold for 7 days;
  • place a customer special order.

Purchasing a Gift

Each Gift List is updated on a daily basis to reflect purchases made on the previous day. It is important to always obtain an up to date Gift List before making a selection. Please let us know if you purchase gifts from other retailers, so that we can delete them from the Gift List and avoid duplication.

Purchase your Gift In store

  • Make your selection from the Gift List, please ensure that you use a list with today’s date;
  • Find your gift in the relevant department in store;
  • Take your selected gift and a copy of the Gift List to a register within the store;
  • Your name and telephone number will be taken at the register, so that the gift can be removed from the Gift List and your name recorded against the gift purchased;
  • You will also be given a complimentary card to insert with your gift selection.

Purchase your Gift by Fax

  • Make your selection from the Gift List, please ensure that you use a list with today’s date
  • Click here to download the Order Form
  • Complete the Order Form, you must provide an email address
  • Fax your completed Order Form to the David Jones store in the state in which the Gift Recipients are/will be residing (fax numbers can be found at the top of the Order Form)
  • Once your fax is received and the gift has been purchased a Gift & Bridal consultant will send you confirmation via email
  • David Jones accepts no responsibility for any Order Forms transmitted to any fax number other that the David Jones Gift & Bridal registry fax numbers provided on the Order Form

Note: David Jones cannot accept any payment details via email, should you have any questions you can call 1300 300 111 or email your enquiry.

Purchase your Gift by Telephone

  • Make your selection from the Gift List, please ensure that you use a list with today’s date;
  • Telephone the Gift & Bridal Service on 1300 300 111 or +61 2 9266 6186 (outside Australia) to have a Gift & Bridal Consultant organise the delivery of your gift selection.

Delivery

Delivery of the gifts purchased from the Gift Registry will occur on a date set by the gift recipient(s).

If you purchase your gift in store you can choose to take the gift with you or have the gift delivered by David Jones* which will incur a service fee of $10.00.

All gifts ordered via fax or telephone will incur a service fee of $10.00. Unfortunately we are not able to deliver purchases made after the delivery closing date, highlighted on the Gift List. Purchases made after this date must be taken with you. Warehouse deliveries, such as large appliances, whitegoods and furniture will be delivered in a separate delivery, unwrapped and without gift cards. The service fee for warehouse deliveries depends on the location and is payable by the purchaser at the time of purchase.

*Australia Post deliveries will occur under the following circumstances:

  • Where deliveries are made to country areas (outside the metropolitan area);
  • Where gifts are purchased in a State outside the delivery State; or
  • Where gifts are sourced from a State outside the delivery State

All Australia Post deliveries will arrive as separate deliveries.

Cancelled and Postponed Occasions

In the event of an occasion being postponed or cancelled for any reason, you as the guest will given one of two options:

  • a refund on the purchase made, or
  • delivery to an address, nominated by you the guest, provided the service fee has been paid.

Returns and Exchanges

If you as the guest return the gift, the David Jones standard Returns Policy will apply.

General Information

  • David Jones will never knowingly be undersold. If you should find a genuinely lower price on the same product at any of our competitors, we will be happy to match it in accordance with our Price Promise Policy at the time purchase.
  • David Jones will place a gift(s) on hold for seven (7) days by removing it from the available gift list. If the gift(s) has not been purchased during this time, the gift(s) will be made available on the gift list.
  • Instant Rewards programme bonuses belong to the purchaser at the time of purchase.
  • Prices listed on the Gift List will be the full retail price of the item at the time of selection.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice.

Privacy

David Jones requires that you provide your details at the time of purchase of your gift. This is to assist in the administration of the Gift List and is not used for marketing purposes. Your personal information is governed by the David Jones Privacy Policy, available from Customer Service Centres in all stores
