How do I activate my Card?
You can activate your Card by calling the number printed on the sticker on the front of your Card when if first arrives. If you no longer have this sticker, you can call Customer Services.
Where can I use my David Jones American Express Card?
You can use your David Jones American Express Card as a payment option at millions of places, here and around the world. Just keep an eye out for the American Express Blue Box logo whenever you are making a purchase.
How do I check my Gift Points balance and/or redeem my Points?
The easiest way to do this is to log in to our secure website. You can also access and redeem your Gift Points by contacting Customer Services. Please note if you wish to redeem you Gift Points for travel, the only way to do this is through the Customer Services.
How can I apply for Supplementary Cardholders on my Account?
The fastest way to apply for a Supplementary Card is to log in to Online Services and click ‘Add someone to my Account’. You can also pick up a form from any David Jones store, or call Customer Services and an application form will be mailed to you. Supplementary Cardholders must be at least 18 years of age.
What is a Balance Transfer?
There are two types of balance transfer. One is the transfer of your balance from a Visa or MasterCard credit card to your David Jones American Express Card in order to receive a promotional rate. The other is a transfer of the outstanding balance from your David Jones Storecard to your David Jones American Express Card. Any balance transferred from a David Jones Storecard will be transferred at the annual percentage rate that applies to purchases on your new account on the day that it is processed.
How do I request a Balance Transfer, and how long does it take to process?
Contact Customer Services. It will take up to 14 days to process a Balance Transfer request. The Balance Transfer request is subject to applicable Balance Transfer terms and conditions.
Can I access cash on my American Express Card?
Yes, you will need to apply and enrol in the Cash Advance facility. This will let you make withdrawals from ATMs. Once you have enrolled you will receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the Cash Advance facility. A nominal transaction fee applies. Please refer to your Financial Table for fees, charges and limits that apply. To enrol in the Cash Advance facility, please call Customer Services and an application form will be sent to you.
What do I do if I dispute a charge on my Card Account or I think my Card has been used fraudulently?
If you have a query with your statement or any change on it, contact Customer Services immediately.
How can I pay my account?
You can pay your David Jones American Express Card account in a number of ways:
- Paying in person by cash, EFTPOS or cheque at any of the following:
- David Jones stores
- Australia Post Offices
- American Express Foreign Exchange Travel Offices
- BPAY®, online or over the phone
- The Automatic Payment Plan (Direct Debit) from your nominated bank account
A $2 processing fee will apply to payments made in person at Australia Post and American Express Foreign Exchange Travel Offices. Cash payments are limited to AUD $6,500. You must present your Card and your current account statement when paying your Card Account.
How can I enrol in Direct Debit?
The easiest way to set up an Automatic Payment Plan is online, log in to Online Services and click on ‘Direct Debit’ and complete the form. You'll need your BSB and Bank Account Number to hand. If you have a joint account or have not registered to Online Services, please contact Customer Services.
Can I pay my David Jones American Express Card and David Jones Storecard in one payment?
No. Your David Jones American Express Card and David Jones Storecard will remain as two separate accounts. Please pay each account separately.
How can I manage my Card Account online?
You can register for Online Services by calling Customer Services. Once enrolled for Online Services, you can view past transactions and statements, check your Gift Points balance and redeem your Gift Points for David Jones Gift Cards.
I have forgotten my User ID/Password, what do I do now?
Please visit davidjones.com.au, have your Card on hand, and click on "Forgot your User ID or Password". Please note, for security purposes you will be asked a number of identification questions.
How do I order a statement reprint?
The fastest way to get historical statements is to log in to Online Services. Your last six months statements are available immediately and all other statements are available within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Services and request a statement reprint over the phone.
If my Card is lost, stolen or damaged, how can I organise a replacement Card?
It's important to contact Customer Services immediately to organise a replacement Card.

You can register for Online Services for the David Jones Storecard. To register for Storecard Online Services, please call Customer Services to apply for a PIN. To log in to your account once you are registered, vist davidjones.com.au, click on ‘David Jones Cards’ at the top of the page and follow the prompts.
If my Storecard is lost, stolen or damaged, how can I organise a replacement Storecard?
It's important to contact Customer Services immediately to organise a replacement Storecard.
As a David Jones Storecard customer, how does the David Jones American Express Alliance affect me?
The David Jones American Express Alliance is the coming together of two great brands and service cultures and we are committed and confident in delivering the same high standard of service you have come to expect from David Jones.
Our partnership with American Express has some implications that you should be aware of. These are set out below.
Firstly, on 1 August 2008, David Jones assigned all its credit contracts (including your David Jones Credit Account Agreement) to American Express. This means that any amounts you owe under your credit contract (whether arising before or after 1 August 2008) are now owed to American Express Australia Limited ABN 92 108 952 085. Please note that your obligation to pay your account and the ways in which you may do so, remain unchanged.
Secondly, some changes have also been made to the David Jones Credit Account Agreement and to the Key Terms. These changes will take effect on 1 October 2008.
Finally, David Jones and American Express have issued a joint privacy notice, which sets out how we may each collect, use and disclose your personal information.

In 2003 David Jones developed a donations policy following market research conducted on our customer base. This research indicated that the charities our customers value the most were in the areas of children’s and women’s health.
To enable more meaningful support, David Jones has concentrated on a number of primary charities in these areas, including an ongoing commitment to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and The Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia (CCIA).
From time to time David Jones also considers it important to provide substantial assistance over and above its normal donation policy and therefore may make extra contributions to varying charities within a financial year.
