David Jones offers hundreds of retail traineeships every year. As a Retail Trainee, you will learn everything from sales and service to the beginnings of retail management.

On completion of the David Jones funded course, every candidate receives a national industry-recognised qualification and the skills necessary to become a future Sales Supervisor.

 

Sales Supervisor Development Program

Ensuring our supervisors are top performers!

Sales Supervisor Development Program is for current David Jones' Supervisors and is designed to ensure Supervisors have the skills and knowledge required to be successful in their roles and for a future career path within David Jones.

This program will build our Supervisors skill and capability to ensure their continuous development in their current role.

 

Foundations of Management Program

Our Foundations of Management program builds our management capability!

Foundations of Management Program is designed to develop the skills and capability of Sales Managers, Sales Managers in Training, Non-Sell Managers, and Non-Sell Managers in Training.

The program will give Managers the Foundations they need to effectively manage and build a committed and capable Management team and for a future management career path within David Jones.

 

Christmas Casual Program

There's no other Store at Christmas like David Jones.

Each year we expand our sales and service teams to create the magic that is Christmas at David Jones. We have a range of positions with commencement dates from August through to early December, continuing until January 2011.

Merchandise Trainee Program

An exclusive opportunity for aspiring Buyers and Planners!

The David Jones’ Merchandise Traineeship Program is an invitation-only developmental path for aspiring Buyers and Planners. We place great emphasis on “growing our internal” resources, skill and capability. The program provides a combination of on the job and off the job activities to ensure participants are ready for their next step.

On completion of the David Jones funded 12 month course, and pending candidates readiness, participants are appointed to Buyer or Merchandise Planner positions.

  
 

David Jones also offers a variety of development opportunities to support you in your role. You will work closely with your Manager to identify your individual development needs. Whether you require Leadership Development, Systems Training, Secondment Opportunities, or other activities that will enhance your skill and capability, our aim is to ensure you receive the appropriate support to enhance your skills and knowledge to enhance your performance in your current role as well as to support your further succession at David Jones.
